Best beachfront resort in Phuket- The Vijitt Experience

Our Thaication started from Phuket and was going to end here as well. The beginning of our trip was spent in Patong which was fun but quite noisy, loud and bustling with crowd. So we certainly did not want our trip to end on that note as we usually like to unwind on our last few days, more so after coming from a quaint & peaceful island called Koh Lanta. So, after all the island hopping and boat trips, the pressing question for us was where to stay in Phuket as we just wanted to avoid the crowds and take in every last bit of Thai charm we could before flying back home. We also wanted to get that one last dose of the Vitamin Sea, so the best beachfront resort in Phuket was what we were after.

This was our first time at The Vijitt Resort but not in Phuket, so we really did not know what to expect out of the property. Will it be crowded and filled with tourists, or loud? And now after a 3-4 hour speed boat ride from Koh Lanta, and about an hour ride by cab from the pier to the hotel, we were all sweaty and exhausted and all we wanted was some peace and quiet. As soon as our cab entered the property and parked in front of the lobby, a feeling of calmness took over us. Our tired eyes, body and mind slowly started feeling relaxed with the flowing breeze, open spaces and lush green all around us. What helped also was being greeted by a refreshing drink and cold towels. As we waited our turn, we spotted a small temple next to the lobby and some statues adding that Thai charm we desired on our last days in Thailand.

Now as we were all checked in, we had a buggy waiting for us to take us to our room and off we went, up and down the hills, in between trees lined up on both sides of our path and wind in our faces. We were already excited to see what lies ahead because this started to feel as if we were about to experience a complete new Phuket too, and exactly the one we hoped for!

As the staff member opened our room doors for us, we were really floored with the charm of the interiors and the way the room was designed. The first thing we saw was the bed in the center surrounded by full length windows (ceiling to floor) on all three sides of the room with plenty of sun light coming in and lush green all around. It was as if sleeping in nature but in luxury and comfort. As we explored further, we had our very own patio that opened up to a view of swaying palm trees and the ocean. If you have been following us, you know we are always drawn to the water so we were excited to see what more was in store. We wanted to freshen up and they had just the perfect bathroom for it with outdoor showers and a huge bathtub, with again views of the green. All cleaned up and ready to grab a bite and check out the rest of the place, we started the long walk along the property, but another buggy was passing by that offered to drop us to the pool area. Tip 1: The property is huge so don’t shy away from making use of the buggies to go from place to place and also you can call the desk prior to leaving your room if you want to be dropped, making sure they can pick you up from outside your room.

We were super hungry from all that travelling so we first stopped by at the Savoury restaurant and the Beach Bar for some yummy cocktails to cool us down and some lip smacking food. As we walked out of the restaurant, our eyes were transfixed and our hearts were filled with peace and joy. It was truly like walking into a postcard picture scene.

To our right was the pristine infinity pool looking out to a lawn of bright lush green, sloping towards the Andaman Sea in the front. The beach was lined up with swaying palm trees with hammocks on them, and a glimpse of neighbouring Thai islands at a distance. At that moment, we had found our spot for the next morning, afternoon and the entire day and were so looking forward to the unwinding we hoped for. We could not believe we were in Phuket, it was a whole new side of it that we recommend everyone must experience! This picturesque property made us realise we had truly found ourselves the best beachfront resort in Phuket.

Also, another great part about staying here is, in addition to having your relaxation needs taken care of, Vijitt Resort Phuket has plenty to do for their active guests as well. There are various activities you can partake in and free shuttle services for you to check out the area, enjoy some local restaurants serving Thai and sea food with sea side views. Tip 2: take a look at their shuttle service schedules and make reservations as you check-in, or even before if you like. The shuttles can take you to beautiful spots like the Promthep Cape for sunset, old town, and Nai Harn beach.

When it comes to the beach, we loved the one connected to the property itself called the Friendship beach, as there was no crowd, beautiful views and lounge chairs provided by the resort to just sit back and relax after a dip. Tip 3: Take a look at the swim times for the beach posted next to the pool. As during the low tide, the water recedes way far out making it impossible to swim. However, during the low tide another interesting activity opens up for the environment enthusiasts where you can stroll along and explore this sea garden and spot some interesting finds.

In addition, there are several other activities at this beachfront resort in Phuket for you to indulge in and experience bits of the local culture, such as enrolling in Thai language classes, Muay Thai boxing, Thai yoga and meditation, food offering to monks, Batik painting, Thai cooking classes, Sunrise breakfast and much more. Some of these are complimentary and some for a charge but definitely great experiences to indulge in. After a relaxed and activity filled day it was time to just hit our cozy room and test out the In-room dining which did not disappoint either.

Now for day two our plan was to just be in that postcard like scene and shuffle between the beach and the pool, and feast on those yummy burgers from the pool side restaurant while we lay on our lounge chairs. The water was so cool, perfect for that sunny day and the tall palm trees provided just the right shade we needed while in the water.

The day was going perfectly until everything turned upside down. We had a family emergency back home and needed to get back as soon as possible so it was definitely a trying time for us as well as the resort and its staff.

We feel that for any decent resort/hotel, giving a good service is a must and the norm if they want to stay in business. Also it is easy to do so when everything is functioning as per the routine. However, a property truly shines when they can provide service in trying times, whether it is related to the hotel, weather situations, country issues or even personal matters of the guests. And in this situation it was related to the guests, us.
In that second we had to pack, clear bills, book the next flight out, arrange transportation and leave right away without having the time to explain in detail to the staff. But they sensed our emergency, saw the panic we were in and jumped in to help immediately. Before we were even ready, there was a buggy waiting to pick our bags and us, the bills were ready before we reached the desk, the check out process was quickly and smoothly handled and before we even finished that, our transportation to the airport was already waiting for us.

We were even blown away with the vendors they work with, for they were just like the actual staff, and the management of The Vijitt Resort were so courteous and helpful. Our driver let us use his phone and internet throughout the ride so we could keep in touch with the family, book our flight tickets, check the status and made sure we reached on time.

Vijit’s service had been impeccable throughout our stay but in this last moment and this testing time they truly outshined themselves by anticipating our every need and showing us how much they care about quality service and how the genuine care of their guests is their highest mission.

Just for this we will always want to stay with them whenever we are in Phuket. Whenever you are traveling to an unknown place you always want to make sure you will be taken care of by the hotels and the trips you book, and if you decide to stay here to will never have to worry about it at all for they will always take care of your every need. We have traveled to several places and stayed with many resorts but The Vijitt Resort Phuket is an all-rounder. From being the best beachfront resort in Phuket situated on gorgeous grounds, to having a private beach, beautiful views, cultural touch, great food and amazing service, it is a complete package you can’t go wrong on.
